Anat Gerber

Anat Gerber has been turning heads ever since she moved to Las Vegas from Israel six years ago. This exotic beauty, originally from Tel-Aviv, has the kind of charisma and sheer attractiveness that makes men fumble for their words (or forget they were talking in the first place).

As if that wasn’t enough for us poker degenerates, Anat is also a poker enthusiast. Her list of favorite players runs for miles and she’ll talk your head off on poker strategy. We ripped Anat away from her poker rounding and graphic design major long enough to don some Card Player garb and some swimwear. Afterwards, she sat down to give us a heart-to-heart:

Card Player College: Who are your favorite poker players?

Anat Gerber: Marcel Luske, Gus Hansen, and Huck Seed. I actually met them outside the poker room and they are not only great players, but also really nice people.

CPC: What’s poker like at UNLV?

AG: If you think competition is tough at your school, try playing poker at UNLV. We’re in the heart of gaming action and these kids know how to play.

CPC: Since the players are so good, what are your favorite kinds of hands to play against them?

AG: Suited connectors. They are tricky to play, but when played well, they are very rewarding.

CPC: What’s life like in Vegas beyond the felt?

AG: I love the great weather and the 24-hour atmosphere. There are wonderful shows playing in the different hotels and great art exhibits downtown. Vegas has a good mix of continental and international culture.

CPC: What kind of poker experience do you have?

AG: I used to play different card games as a little girl with my grandmother and her friends. I used to count the points and, every now and then, sit in on a game. Good times. Now I play in different tournaments around campus. My favorite game is, of course, no-limit hold’em.

CPC: Aside from poker, what else do you do with your spare time?

AG: I love to sing, dance, and act. I actually performed in some stage productions here in town. I’m also taking yoga and kickboxing classes. I write scripts for plays and short films. I love to read motivational books and books on human relationships, like those by Anthony Robbins or Dr. Wayne Dyer. As far as music, I listen to classical, meditation, jazz, blues, disco, Spanish, and Brazilian music. And, of course, I love to play poker and work on graphic design projects.

CPC: You’re gorgeous and you like poker. At this point, readers are wondering what you look for in a guy and how best to treat you to a night on the town.

AG: I like average, down-to-earth guys. Guys who are good with numbers, very considerate, and funny! Sense of humor is a must. I like romantic dinners followed by clubbing at Vegas hot spots - and Vegas has a lot of hot spots to choose from.
